    Warrenton Branch Greenway

    Friday, July 17th, 2009

Like the St. Tammany Trace bike trail we previously mentioned here on PPiaM; the Warrenton Branch Greenway is part of the great Rails to Trails project (paving old un-used railroad tracks into biking/jogging paths).Unfortunately, while the St. Tammany Trace is over 30 miles long, Kelly and I did not realize that Warrenton Branch Greenway was a new project, and one without a lot of backing/funding, and hence we quickly found out the WBG trail is only 1.3 miles in length.

Its really unfortunate because like most Rails to Trails paths, it is very scenic, secluded, includes paved & boarded bridges and also has some nice (but easy) elevation changes; just too short.
