We’re still playing catch-up on getting description/gallery pages up for many of our existing pins since the launch of the new site, and we’re only a few weeks removed from adding the state of New Jersey (Ocean Grove Beach), many landmarks & a see-thru bathroom in New York City, and the aptly named Mid- Ohio Sports Car Course to the map, but that’s no cause to stop adding new pins.
We’ve finally decided that its time we added the great city of Las Vegas to the map!
First of all we love Cirque du Soleil, having seen LaNouba in Downtown Disney Florida and also a few touring shows, and we know the great selection of shows in Vegas that are always raved about. Then you add in all the popular magicians, singers and other performers, lights, fountains, restaurants and countless things to see and Vegas seems overwhelming.
So we always told ourselves, that if/when we did Vegas, we had to do it right, none of this quick in/out weekend type thing, Vegas is huge, and we’d be doing ourselves and this site a disservice to only have a “quickie” with Vegas.
But a bigger trip also means more expense and time off from work needed, but “2 nights get the 3rd night free” deals at the hotels on the strip come to the rescue, and its all the motivation we need.
So whats the masterplan?
Among all the other things we’re mainly going to target the trip around 5 Cirque du Soleil shows (O, Ka, Zumanity, Mystere & LOVE), Magicians (at least Penn & Teller), Blue Man Group, Numerous Landmarks (all the Vegas staples and then also the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam which are nearby) & of course everything else Vegas has to offer… in 6.5 days.
Are we crazy? Maybe, but if you’ve seen this site you know this is the kind of thing we’re all about. Obviously we won’t be able to fit every single little thing Vegas has to offer in, but we should be able to get a very good amount of it and in the process add maybe upwards of 10-15 pins to the site, not to mention adding the great states of Nevada and Arizona.
The inevitable problem of course is money, because Vegas isn’t cheap at the list pricing. Doing the Cirque du Soleil shows alone could run us quite the bill, so if any of you Vegas/Cirque experts out there know of any cool deals or anything that can help, please feel free to comment here, we’d greatly appreciate it. Currently “Club Cirque” has a great anniversary deal, but it runs out before our trip, so hopefully something else will come around as we near our trip.
More importantly if you know of things we “absolutely must see” when we’re in town, let us know that too, we surely don’t want to miss anything when we’re in town. For now, we’re going to just do more research and get more excited, you know…as well as continuing to get more of our retroactive pins uploaded and live to the new site.
