Putting Pins in a Map


With so many places to see, things to experience, recreation to be had, events to witness and people to meet; we’re on a mission to try it all... and hopefully remember to take pictures along the way. Is the biggest something ever boring? Is every sport & every stadium the same? Is history only interesting for the history buffs? Doesn’t travel cost a lot of money? Are tourist traps just that, traps? Can good food be found anywhere? Is music in clubs just too loud? Are the only worthwhile places to travel to, the well known ones? Are there some places that have absolutely nothing interesting about them? Maybe so... maybe not... but how can anyone know unless they try? With so much to see in the world, where to start? Well… our plan is to hit all 50 states and (in time) move on to hitting all the countries. But that’s our plan, hopefully through this site we can help people out with theirs; with ideas or the nudge to get them out there. People are too busy coming up with reasons (budget, distance, time, kids/family, don’t think I’ll like it) to not try stuff out, because life is easier that way. We’re realistic; some things are quick and easy to find, some are expensive, some are as cheap as free, some require road trips while some require no travel and are a small bit of recreation away. There is always bound to be something new out there, we're simply on a mission to keep trying new stuff. If you know of something we should try out, let us know. This site isn't just to serve as a journal & scrapbook for us, if you find yourself bored, hopefully you can use our ‘pins’ as a jumpstart for some ideas. About Kelly: Having lived in three different states by the time she was five, Kelly got the travel-bug early. Just your average kid growing up, she has worked as a drive-thru specialist, event-security and then as a wildland firefighter. She is more recently known as a GIS analyst, and one to make some pretty badass maps. Her maps & analysis have been used by many including government officials, newspapers & even seen on 24-hour news networks. She also runs the site Calico Kiwi. About Allen: A fan of just about anything, Allen has been found racing boats, playing any and all sports, touring in a band, playing poker, traveling, producing & marketing for various entertainment & non-profit organizations, being a photographer and playing many video games. Lately you can find him marketing, contributing to this site and writing for the Grab Bag Sports sports blog. Most importantly, he does not use cheat codes when he plays video games... unlike some other unnamed people.
